The Coleman Co.
The employees of Barton International Group traveled to Los Angeles, Cali., Houston, Texas, Miami, Fla., and Chicago Ill., for the Coleman Company Project. The employees objective was to perform market research on a target market.
Employees conducted surveys to acquire information on consumer behavior on the Hispanic market. They learned communication skills and how to adapt to unpredictable field circumstances. The most important skill employees found was their knowledge of Spanish to communicate with survey participants.
After conducting field research in each city, BIG employees complied and dissected the data. The project’s results uncovered a substantial opportunity for Coleman to expand their awareness in the Hispanic market.
A potential $23 million increase in revenue was presented to Coleman.
It was the first project to focus on monetary potential of a company based on primary market research. It gave BIG valuable experience that it could provide to future clients.
“I learned more on the market trip and in each of those meetings with Coleman's executive team than I have in any one of my college courses. I learned to analyze data in ways that students are not taught in college. I've definitely been able to lend my skills acquired from the Coleman project to my current job and my coursework. I understand content in classes and in textbooks at a different level because I've already experienced it.” - Member of the Coleman Project team
